Village of Tularosa - Workshop-October 15, 2007
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in a Workshop setting on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 7:00 P. M. in the Court/Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.
Present: Mayor Ray S. Cordova, Trustee Patrick Garcia, Trustee Margaret Trujillo, Trustee Thomas McKean, Trustee Gloria Sainz as well as Village Clerk Dianna R. Brusuelas.
Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the workshop to order asking all to rise and join in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Trustee Thomas questioned an item on the bills list, an expenditure of $5,400.00 to Titan. Mayor Ray Cordova explained that several generators and other equipment was bought.v
Amy Hutchins a representative from Help Head Start approached the Board of Trustees presenting them with a letter and requesting a cross walk near the Catholic Church expressing concern for the preschoolers in her school crossing to the library twice a week. Mayor Cordova told Ms. Hutchins that he had met with members of the Council of Governments on this very issue but for the time being to contact the Police Department with their schedules so the officer on duty could help the children with the crossing of the highway.
Trustee Patrick Garcia once again brought up the weeds across Subway asking if any citations had been issued. Mayor Cordova responded that there had been no response from the property owners after the Police Department issued a letter.
Trustee Patrick Garcia also asked about a large trash bin at the yard so that people could dump their branches and clean their yards. Mayor Cordova said he would contact Alamo Disposal.
The question arose about the sewer line at Rita Lopez Lane. Mayor Cordova said he received two prices, the one for 300' was priced at $15,000.00 and the one to go all the way to the end of Rita Lopez Lane would cost $50,000.00. He also stated that he hoped that the line for Pilar Chavez Lane could be handled by the field personnel.
On the sale of land to the Tularosa Basin Telephone Company the members of the Board felt that leasing would be a better option.
The members of the Board had a lengthly discussion on raises for the employees.
Mayor Ray S. Cordova advised the Board that because of the problems at the Waste Water Plant he had requested some independent testing. The Board all agreed that it was a good idea.
The workshop adjourned at 10:00 P. M.
