Trustee Patrick Garcia asked if the Baseball Field was finished. Mayor Cordova stated that it was almost done, but that he wasn't to happy with the backstop but they said that was the way it was called for in the plans and that it would cost $4,000.00 more to have it done to our liking. Mayor Cordova said there was still money in the grant, the infield has been leveled but not sod has been placed and the grant does not have the money for that The village will have to build a crows nest with some of the money that is left and some volunteers. Mayor Cordova also stated that little league regulations had changed and the fence would have to be moved back.
Trustee Thomas McKean asked about a payment to Gannett Fleming. It was advised to ask Mr. Rick Gutierrez. Trustee McKean said he would like to meet with Gil Gallegos the engineer from Gannett Fleming.
Trustee Thomas McKean also asked about a $2,580.00 charge. Mayor Cordova stated he would look into it.
The question arose about the fire hydrant replacement project. Mayor Cordova explained that the project is underway but one difficulty was that the valves to the fire hydrants were not near the fire hydrants so village staff would have to help in locating the valves. The Mayor also wants the fire department to occasionally check and lubricate the valves. Mayor Cordova says there has to be communication between the Water Department and the Fire Department because some of the valves that were marked by the Fire Department as non-working were found to be working but that the valves were off.
Mr. John Devine proceeded to give a power point presentation on Document Management in Local Governments.
Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez reminded the Mayor and members of the Board about the invitation to Ms. Wingfield's birthday party and said the Mayor was going to proclaim October 9th as Ms. Orpha Wingfield Day since she would be 100 years old on that day.
Trustee Thomas McKean brought up the 40th anniversary for the Medical Center the 18th of November at noon but would have more information at the October meeting.
Mr. Rick Gutierrez was asked if we had sufficient money to buy the scoreboard at the baseball field. Mr. Gutierrez stated that we were approximately $3,100 short.
Trustee Gloria Sainz asked about the sewer line by Mr. Castles house and the water line on Pilar Chavez Lane
The Workshop adjourned at 8:15 P. M.
